The Emirates Dubai 7s, is a multi-disciplinary sports and music festival that has taken place annually in Dubai since 1970. The 2021 edition saw the inclusion of netball and cricket to the programme and the hugely popular event was attended by 78,000 people over the three days of competitions and entertainment.

Scope of work

JAM was responsible for the event’s health and safety, crowd management and JOC control. This included:

• Three months of HSE planning: full pre-production, delivery of event safety, crowd management and JOC.
• Providing event safety team and crowd management team for build, live, dismantle phases.
• Review of all submitted health and safety related paperwork in the pre-production phase of the event.
• Emergency management, crisis management scenario planning and training for all stakeholders.
• Running tabletop exercise for all stakeholders.
• JOC set up and operation.
• Control system.
